19, of Nashville, Mich.; assigned to the 4th Battalion, 31st Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat
Team, 10th Mountain Division, Fort Drum, N.Y.; died May 12 in Al Taqa, Iraq, of wounds sustained
when his patrol was attacked by enemy forces using automatic fire and explosives. Also killed
were Sgt. 1st Class James D. Connell Jr. and Pfc. Christopher E. Murphy.

In Honor Of PFC Daniel W. Courneya, OIF, 05/12/07

PRIVATE FIRST CLASS Daniel W. Courneya, 19, of
Nashville and Vermontville, Michigan. Daniel died while supporting Operation
Iraqi Freedom on May 12, 2007. He was assigned to the 4/31st Infantry
Regiment, 10th Mtn Division. My condolences to his family and friends. I
attended his funeral with the Patriot Guard. Daniel, You Have Not Been
Forgotten.... Say, Hooah to those up there with you and give us a sign.
Christmas in Arlington... Rest easy, sleep well my brothers. Know the
line has held, your job is done. Rest easy, sleep well. Others have
taken up where you fell, the line has held. Peace, peace, and farewell....
