Tributes This Memorial Page Established by-S. Courtney In Honor Of Army Spec. Thomas A. Foley III Army Specialist Thomas A. Foley was assigned to B Battery, 2-44th Air Defense Artillery Regiment with the 101st Airborne from Fort Campbell, KY. He left Fort Campbell in route to Iraq right around March 1st... his 23rd birthday. In the early morning hours of April 14th there was a knock on his Grandmother's front door in Dresden, TN. Tommy was not going to be coming home from the war. One more brave soul had given his life in honor to his country and while defending the rights of peoples from another land. Though the details of his death were (and in some ways still remain) unsure we understand he was killed when an explosive devise detonated unexpectedly. However it happened, the fact remains he gave his life for his country... the soldier's ultimate sacrifice. Tommy, as he was known by friends and family, was a dedicated husband and newborn son was the light of his very world. He was a much loved husband, father, brother, son, grandson and nephew. He had an outstanding ability to make those around him smile with his infectious personality. He was an incurable prankster who loved karaoke and playing pool with his buddies. There is a void in the lives of all that he touched with his passing. He is kept alive in the hearts and memories of his loved ones. |
