42, of Fairfax, Va.; assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 20th Special Forces Group (Airborne),
Mississippi Army National Guard, Jackson, Miss.; died Aug. 2 in Qole Gerdsar, Afghanistan, of
wounds sustained when insurgents attacked his vehicle with an improvised explosive
device. Also killed were Capt. Ronald G. Luce and Sgt. 1st Class Severin W. Summers III.

Tributes Memorial Page Established By-Margaret Jones Alex was a wonderful nephew. A quiet person who when he spoke it was something worth listening to. He loved his wife and kids and also loved his army life and career. Alex would say to all the lives he touched, I am proud you look up to me but do good things with your life so people will look up to you. Alex had two grandsons that he was proud of. It's sad he was not around long enough to make a big impact on their lives as he did so many other young men. Alex will be greatly missed by all of us who loved him and admired his strength. Rest in peace ALEX. I love you, Aunt Margaret. |
