Killed in action near Diwaniyah, Iraq when his convoy was ambushed enroute to Baghdad.
Griffin was a data systems technician assigned to the 728th Air Control Squadron, Eglin Air
Force Base, Florida. Died on May 13, 2003

Patrick, you will be missed by many. Prior to you being deployed I made a promise to you.
This memo is my way of communicating to you that I will not let you down on the promise I
made. My commitment to you will continue as I do my best to keep the evil in our lives as
distant as I can from your beautiful children. Our commitment to Michelle is equally as strong
and we will do our best to guide her in time of need. Thank you for bringing so many special
moments into our lives. Mama Kane and I miss and love you Patrick. May you rest in
peace."
