Tributes This Memorial Page Established by-Carol Lumpkin In Honor Of Sgt Johnny Lumpkin July 3rd of 2001 I married my Best friend, Soulmate and Husband as a year goes by with no jobs My Hero joined the United States Army. As he did his basic and at in Fort Sill. Then moved on to Korea for a year. His time was to come and get me and his two kids. We PCSed to Germany and he deployed coming home safe. We went on to move to another part of Germany. As our time ended in Germany we got stationed on Fort Stewart GA. He fought to deploy as he won that fight, He got to go with his fellow soldiers. On July 2nd 2010 My Husband, My Hero, passed away by sacrificing his life for another Soldier. He will be greatly missed as these days goes on he is forever with me. 38, of Columbus, Ga., died July 2 in Balad, Iraq, of wounds sustained July 1 in a non-combat
related equipment incident in Taji, Iraq. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 41st Field Artillery
Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division, Fort Stewart, Ga.
