To: Kelli Luisi Our Fallen Soldier
Dear Kelli,
Our company annually chooses a charity to honor during the holiday season. While
employees are encouraged to give, we don't ever require participation. However, this year
has been different. With the recent tragedy that hit, so close to home in Fort Hood, TX, we
felt an overwhelming need to do something for our military members & their families. We
came across your website and saw the pictures of all of the soldiers that have lost their
lives fighting for our freedom. This had an impact on us and we knew we had to help.
We named our drive "Buy Your Way to a Blue Jean December." Employees were
encouraged to pay $25 for the month or $5 for the week to wear jeans and help 'Our
Fallen Soldier'. The result was overwhelming. With only a total of 99 employees
participating in our drive -in one week we had raised close to $1,000. By the end of the
drive (Dec. 18), the total came to $3,175 of employee contributions. Along with the
generosity of our company, and V.P. General Manager -Dale Burks, the company matched
the employee contributions and this resulted in a grand total of $6,350.00!
To date, this has been our biggest holiday charity drive! Also, thank you for the
wristbands. The employees couldn't wait to get one to wear.

We are proud to hand over this check to 'Our Fallen Soldier' with the hope that it helps as
many families as possible.
Sincerely,

Suzanne Serrano
