Tributes Memorial Page Established By- Mary Wildes In Honor Of Pfc Matthew Wildes PFC MATTHEW WILDES 4TH INFANTRY DIVISION 1ST BATTALION 12TH INFANTRY REGIMENT STEADFAST & LOYAL RED WARRIORS "LED BY THE LOVE OF COUNTRY" FORT CARSON CO. Pfc Matthew wildes was a Proud American Infantryman Soldier . He joined the Army at 17 yrs.of age . He is a AMERICAN HERO who paid the ultimate sacrifice for the Country he loved . We were so blessed that Matt was home on R & R a week before he was killed .He had only been back to his Out Post 12 hours before he was killed by IED . He was the Gunner in the Mrap . Matthew was doing what he really wanted to do what he loved doing ."Matt went to war with his eyes wide open...Like it or not,he knew how he might come home" .He was proud to be a Infantryman ! He was humorous ." SGT.YOU CAN'T SMOKE A ROCK" His fellow soldiers say he had that "NO QUIT ATTITUDE" . He was the funny Man in his Platoon. He mastered the Blue Steel Look "Ben Stiller Zoolander" We will always love you and you will forever be missed ! You will always be in our HEARTS . Matthew received Bronze Star, Purple Heart, Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal,Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Global War on ! Terrorism Medal, and the Combat Infantryman Badge, and Louisiana Honor Medal October 14, 2009 Liliana Martinez Gastelum I don't have words to express all my sorrow and sadness for the lost of the soldier Matt Wildes. All my respect and my admiration to his family. I'm so proud for all the militaries jobs in a war zone. God bless his family and Matt always will lives in our hearts.
